Hong Kong

Hong Kong, officially known as Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, is a city on the southern coast of China at the Pearl River Estuary and the South China Sea. Although there are lots of spoken languages there, the main languages are Chinese and English.


Fun facts:

  1. Hong Kong has more restaurants than anywhere else. You can also find the cheapest, yet delicious food.

  2. The Peak Tram (obviously, located in Hong Kong) is running since 1888 and it's the oldest tramway on planet Earth.

  3. The world's longest sea crossing is also located in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong-Zuhai-Macau. Spans over 55 kilometres across the Pearl River; and was built at 2018, specifically on October 23.

  4. A famous Hong Kong landmark, the bronze Big Buddha is located on Lantau Island. This is one of the world’s largest seated Buddhas, towering over visitors at 34 metres high.

  5. Hong Kong's international airport is so big, that it could fit 20 soccer fields.

  6. Cathay Pacific is Hong Kong’s home airline and has won “World’s Best Airline” many times.
